Al, really enjoyed visiting with you at our frequent North High luncheons/suppers, as did my husband, Richard.  I will miss your "bear" hugs, and when I get there, God willing, I expect to be greeted with one of your "bear" hugs!  We'll miss you here, greatly

Such a sad loss to our Pleasant Valley alumni.

Alfred and I sat beside each other in Mrs. Wilkinson's typing class at Pleasant Valley.  While we were typing 'the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog' my fast moving carriage return caused my desk to hit Alfred's causing his books to hit the floor.  Mrs. Wilkinson said, "Karen Barnett, just how much noise can you make?"  My answer wasn't satisfactory and she sent me to the principle's office.  Everyone loved Alfred.  So sad to hear this.

I have so enjoyed reconnecting with Al, at our many high school luncheons and dinners the past 2 or 3 years. I will miss these times. I will miss his "bear" hugs, his warm smile, and his ornery teasing ways. He always lightened and brightened any of our gatherings. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Rest in Peace dear friend.

Alfred you will be greatly missed.  We got to know each other from the time we moved in across the street from you before we were in school.  We spent 9 years at Plesant Valley and then the 3 years at North.  You are a great loss to all your friends from PV and North & all your family.

Yes, surely, we will all miss Alfred. He had a luminous personality. He was a fine competitor..Like Stanley said, his love story with Loralee was beautiful.

Al was bigger than life.  He was always ready to help those who needed it.  I will never forget his endearing personality and infectious smile.  He was a good friend and a hell-of-a Marine. RIP my brother...you will be missed.
