Gerald "Jerry" Jackson passed away on April 20, 2023, at the age of 77, with his family by his side.
His battle with pancreatic cancer over the past eight months showed his courage, resilience and passion for people. During this difficult time Jerry continued to smile, he continued to laugh, and he continued to love. Despite the physical toll this took, Jerry continued to do what he enjoyed the most, spend time with his family and friends.
Jerry made the most of his time here with us. He never hesitated to try something different, go somewhere new, see new things and meet new people. Jerry could carry on a conversation with anyone, about any topic which also gave him the unique ability to meet new people anywhere he might have been. His love for life and people will remain in our family for generations to come.
Jerry was never one to sit around and enjoyed working at his “part time” job up until the end where he made many amazing friends.
Jerry adored his grandchildren. He showed off pictures to anyone willing to look and bragged about their accomplishments to anyone that would listen. He was so very proud of his family as his family was of him.
Jerry lived a great life and recently said. "I've had a good life and have two amazing children(Alan, wife Stacy and Amy, husband Vince)and 5 amazing grandchildren(Colton, Cayla, Zach, Ella and Cooper). I did what I wanted to do and I'm ok moving on."
Jerry will be honored in a celebration of life on April 29, 2023. McGilley and Frye Funeral Home from 3-4 pm, with a get together following, per his request.
